Fort Collins Regional Library District
Board of Trustees
Nina Bodenhamer
Nina Bodenhamer has lived in Fort Collins for the last seven years. Before the 2006 election that created the newly formed Regional Library District, Nina served for two years on the Fort Collins Library Board. In 1997, Nina founded Educational Media Services, where she develops community-based learning campaigns to support public broadcasting properties such as "Clifford the Big Red Dog" and "Teletubbies." Nina was part of the team that converted the curriculum of "Sesame Street" into tangible educational materials for use in both traditional and non-traditional child education. Prior to that, Nina was a Kindergarten and second grade teacher in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Nina earned a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development and a master's in Children & Family Studies from the University of Arkansas.
"My library of the future would be the best combination of the multiple uses and needs of a library: the product of partnerships with schools and community organizations; a state of the art technology center; an art gallery; an informal learning center to offer a menu of lectures, films and forums; a community meeting space; a vibrant place for children and families; as well as the traditional host of a robust and diverse collection of books and media.
These are my notions of a library; however, the residents of Larimer County created our Library District. The Fort Collins Regional Library District will be dynamically defined and shaped by our community - a process I look forward to."
(Term expires 3/2011)
