Bob Viscount
Bob Viscount has been a resident of Fort Collins for ten years. Bob spent many years as an English professor at City University of New York before working at Hewlett-Packard for three years. Bob volunteered his time at the Fort Collins museum from 1997 to 2005. He has also volunteered with FortNet, which develops web pages for non-profit groups, since 1997. Bob is also is a member of the board of directors for the Larimer Chorale.
Bob earned his bachelor's degree from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, double-majoring in English and History. He earned a Graduate Diploma in Education with a concentration in Teaching English as a Second Language and History from the Makerere College, the University of East Africa. Bob earned his master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and Applied Linguistics from the Teacher's College at Columbia University. Additionally, Bob was an Ed. D. candidate in Applied Linguistics at Columbia University.
"Perhaps we'll adopt the description of the postal carriers - neither snow nor rain…etc. - and have librarians visit all parts of the District on a regular basis. I did mention the word 'bookmobile' to one of the librarians, and she told me she used to drive the vehicle that the library had years ago and that she'd be willing to do that again. We'll talk to teachers and staff of the Poudre School District to find out what the children's needs are in the schools that are far from our branches. We will be creative in finding affordable ways to offer library services to all parts of the District."
