The Fort Collins Regional Library District

The Fort Collins Regional Library District is a new entity created by citizen vote in 2006. With the established Fort Collins Public Library System as its foundation, the district offers citizens tremendous opportunities for learning, intellectual stimulation and personal enjoyment. Through its two branches, outreach programs and online resources, the district provides citizens of all ages and backgrounds community-centered services and access to a diverse collection of materials.

Guided by a seven-member board of trustees and supported with a 3-mill property tax, the district looks to a future full of possibility. The board continues to make strides toward fulfilling its most important commitments to citizens: restoring library services and positions; opening and operating a new southeast library branch in 2008; creating an intergovernmental agreement for the district, the City of Fort Collins and Larimer County; and developing a long-range vision for library services throughout the District. In all its endeavors, the district aims to enrich the cultural, educational and economic life of the growing regional area which it serves.
